Sailing on the Leafde fan Fryslân
The port of departure depends on the connecting trips. Usually this will be Enkhuizen, Amsterdam or a port on the Frisian coast (Harlingen or Lemmer).
We sail on the Markermeer, the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. This means that all options for your destination are open. A pleasant evening on the shore or on board enjoying the sunset in peace, discuss your preferences on board with the skipper.
Due to the enormous amount of sailing space you can actively sail on board. The crew will be happy to show you around on deck and teach you the tricks of sailing on this barquentine.

Layout
The former wheelhouse has been converted into a cosy seating area where you have a magnificent view over the area through the large windows. The seating area has an almost colonial feel. A staircase leads to the bar and the spacious lounge/dining room. Here too the interior is luxurious. The salon consists of five separate tables and chairs, so that the space can be used as a party, presentation or meeting space in no time.
The bar has a library and its own seating area, where you can enjoy a drink after a wonderful day outdoors.
A staircase leads to some of the bedrooms. The other bedrooms are located in the fore ship and can be reached via a staircase in the deck house. The spacious and comfortable rooms are all equipped with two separate box-spring beds, a private shower and toilet, a sink, a hair dryer and a safe. Eight rooms also have a foldup bed. The beds are made upon arrival.
The kitchen is located in the stern. In principle, the Leafde fan Fryslân is only rented including catering. It is only possible to use the kitchen if specified.

History of Leafde fan Fryslân
Built in 1937 at a yard in Solvesborg in Sweden and entered into service as Thalata. Until 1987, the ship, a so-called Baltic trader, transported cargo on the Baltic Sea. After that the ship wasn't used for years. At the end of the 90s the ship was converted into a luxury three-masted sailboat, a barquentine. A barquentine is a ship with three (or more) masts, the front mast which is set across. In 2017, the ship started a third life with Joris de Wit and Rinske van Huizen for luxury sailing holidays and as hotel accommodation.
